| Employee Hazcom Training Program Each University department shall
designate an employee who will oversee the Hazard Communication program and conduct
department-specific training for all members of that department.
These
trainers will receive their training at special "Train-The-Trainer"
seminars conducted by the Environmental Health & Safety Department.

- Details of Company Plan
- Five Stages of Program
- Material Safety Data Sheets
- Marking and Labeling System
- Employee Training
- Written Plan
- Chemical Inventory List
- Describe Policies and Procedures
- Hazard Detection
- Spill Response
- Use of Protective Equipment
Open Book Test
It will take a minimum of 30 to 45 minutes to conduct the
basic Hazard Communication Training. If there are any specific hazardous substances or
situations to be trained on, the session will take longer to complete, depending on the
type and number of hazardous substances.
EXAMPLE:
- Office Employees with no specific hazardous substances
- 30 - 45 minutes per session

- Paint Shop Employees with 4 specific substances to be
trained on (paints, solvents, etc.)
- 1 to 1½ hours, depending on their training needs

REACTIVITY: 2 or above
If none of the above, choose 4 or 5 of the worst substances
that you do have and use them in the training.
