Accident prevention and efficient production go hand-in-hand. The Physical Plant Services management considers no phase of operation or administration as being of greater importance than accident prevention. All levels of management and all employees have a primary responsibility for the safety and well-being of all employees and students.

It is the policy of Physical Plant Services to strive to provide and maintain safe and healthful working conditions and to follow operating practices that will safeguard our employees, faculty, staff, students and visitors at Oklahoma State University.

Employee Statement

O S U M E M O R A N D U M
TO All Physical Plant Employees
FROM Rick Krysiak, Director
SUBJECT Employee Protection

The Physical Plant Administration is very proud of the Physical Plant employees and the accident record they have achieved. Yet while a low accident severity rate exists, the accident frequency rate is an area that could be improved. Improvements could provide less lost-time incidents, more production, better morale, and naturally, better working conditions. The desire to obtain these improvements has resulted in the preparation and distribution of this, the Physical Plant Safety Manual.

Special thanks go to the Supervisors, the Environmental Health & Safety Department, and members of the Physical Plant Administration who have provided the input necessary to put this special manual together. Years of experience and knowledge have been combined to yield as much applicable information as possible. It is my wish that the knowledge you gain from reading this manual will help provide you with a safe and healthy livelihood, both at work and at home.
