Fall Protection

According to OSHA, falls are the most common causes of serious work related injuries and deaths. To prevent these accidents and provide a safe work environment, effective training, engineering and administrative controls should be implemented. In cases where these controls are not adequate, employees must be provided with fall protection, based on the employee’s exposure.

Departments should identify any existing or potential fall hazards and determine if they constitute the need for a fall protection program.  This information, along with appropriate procedures, university policy, and requirements that must be met - can be found in EHS’s Fall Protection Manual.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding fall protection, please contact EHS at 744-7241 or
